my new boyfriend

July 12, 2007

My new boyfriend moved in a few doors down last year, but I’ve only recently gotten to know him. He’s charming, handsome and polite. His energy and enthusiasm are infectious, and he leaves me giddy. His name is Alec and he’s 5.

Now that it’s summer, Alec’s often lingering outside when I come home or step out, and every single time his face lights up when he sees me.

The other day he caught me walking up to our front door. He ran down the hall to greet me. “Hi!” he beamed.

“Hi, Alec!”

After a quick chat, he reached into his pocket and pulled out a Corn Pop. “This is corn cereal,” he said. “Do you like it?”

I nodded. “Okay, next time, I’ll buy you some!”

I MISS YOU, nutmeg. I love Alec, too! Every child needs someone to light up for them as soon as they are seen.

This reeks of your maternal instincts…you will make such a great mommy.

    XOXOXO Huggins,
