early bird
September 22, 2008Something miraculous has happened since returning home last week: I have become a morning person.
Before, I’d get up at 8 or 9, stumble to the kitchen bleary-eyed and slightly cranky, put on a pot of water for the french press, meander coffee-in-hand to the office and slooowly start my day (in my PJs).
But now, I wake up when Rama does and get up when he leaves for school–before 7 am. I make my coffee and breakfast, wash my face, get out of my PJs, write some emails, check on my favorite sites, and plan my work day, all before 9 and with a smile on my face. I love it!
I don’t know if and how long this will last, but I am enjoying it while I can.
i am experiencing the same thing! I loved sleeping as long as i could, but i love how much extra time you can add to your day by getting up early! Eating a long and delicious breakfast in stead of non! wow. its actually life changing! recently i had a weekend where i did sleep in as long as i could, and it actually destroyed the rhythm i had built -getting it back though
wow! i just checked out your photos and realized that your Squam is my Squam, way out here in New Hampshire! that’s very exciting. i hope you had a lovely time in our little state.
you know, i was just thinking the same thing… I groaned at the early wake ups while at Squam (well, early wake ups if you wanted to get to the dining hall for coffee before class) but since I have been home it is early rising all the way, tho I will confess I don’t get out of my jammies much earlier than usual, I am up… and reading and planning and designing and working…
oh darling… i am so jealous to hear this. i hope this new place we are moving into (did i mention i am moving?) changes me into an early bird again. buenos aires turned me into a huge night owl… now i need those big windows in this dark winter to wake me up again, :) doesn’t it feel like once you go there, you never want to go back to waking up normal.. or even on time? :)
