Time capsule
August 25, 2003A couple months ago, I discovered a homework assignment I completed in 4th grade. It’s a handmade stapled booklet called “All About Me from A-Z” and it’s hilarious. I rediscovered so much about my 10-year-old self, like how much I loved candy and how much I hated practicing the piano. I wanted to change my name to Regina and I wanted desperately to own a Hallmark store when I grew up.
Sandwiched between the last two pages was a sheet of wide-ruled paper on which I’d started the same exercise a few years later. I was disappointed to see that I’d stopped after the letter “G.”
I found such joy in the questions, however, that I decided to try it again–17 years later. Now I’m sharing it with you.
