Lynda Barry’s train of thought, written on index cards [more photos soon]

This week, I did something I hadn’t done in years. I took a writing class. For my upcoming birthday, Rama enrolled me in Writing the Unthinkable taught by one of my heroes, Lynda Barry.

I just got home an hour ago, and I am still in awe at everything that transpired the past two 6-hour days. Marveling that I filled a stack of college-ruled paper with 8 pieces in two days, a couple of which I actually think are good. Reliving the other stories I heard in and out of the classroom told to me by the other students, some that I just met and others that I coincidentally already knew. Trying to hold on tightly to the nuggets of wisdom and bursts of hilarity that Lynda Barry so generously shared with us.

It was all kind of unbelievable and incredibly fun, and I am so inspired to keep writing. To write more. Right now.
