5 things you may not know about me*

November 20, 2007

1 • I lived in Paris for a post-grad semester. While there, I studied art, creative writing and French, and explored our neighboring countries by train. It was a dream come true. Now, when I see the city of lights in photos or films, images of the Seine and the Louvre and Notre Dame, I can’t believe I was actually there.

2 • I own too many jackets and coats for a girl in Southern California. I guess I just like winter style. Once, our coat rack, weighed down mostly by my collection, toppled over during a party, and I was so embarrassed I wanted to hide under the gigantic woolly pile.

3 • The first concert I ever went to was Whitney Houston at Irvine Meadows sometime in the late ’80s. I got tickets for my cousin Melissa for her birthday, and I was so excited that I even got a new outfit for it: a pink knit jumper. Hot.

4 • My first celebrity crush was the bald guy in Sha Na Na. Apparently, I used to sit close to the TV and gush, “He’s so cuuuute!”

5 • I didn’t know how to flare my nostrils until recently. Thanks to Rama, I learned how to flare my nostrils on demand. It got so bad, or I got so good, that my nostrils sometimes flared without my even trying.

* There are rules, but I’m cheating.
