As many of you know, my nephew Ethan has been in the hospital for almost a year waiting for a heart, and today they may have found one.
The heart is being flown in as I type this & he is scheduled for surgery at 1pm today.
Please keep him in your thoughts, prayers, hopes and wishes today that the heart is a match and the surgery goes well. And please also remember the donor’s family; they’re giving such a precious gift to Ethan. Thank you.
Update: Ethan did get the heart! They performed surgery late Thursday night, and as of about midnight it was all over, he was moved to a room in the ICU and his new heart was pumping on its own. It’s really so amazing.
Thank you for your thoughts and prayers. I think they’re working. I’m guessing the next few days are critical, so I’m continuing to stay hopeful.
