Future crush of America

October 6, 2004

I don’t know whom I love more: Anne Lamott for speaking her heart, David Foster Wallace for making me laugh and cry in the same breath, Michael Chabon for his nervous leg twitch, or Dave Eggers for quoting Will Ferrell and publishing a beautiful book and CD. I guess I have a crush on everyone who read last night at “Where’s My Democracy?” and Downtown for Democracy for hosting the event.

Pick up a copy of The Future Dictionary of America (complete with The Future Soundtrack of America), which features some of those authors, along with other ace writers, illustrators and musicans, and you’ll swoon, too.

  • I'm Christine, and this is a slice of my life—a sweet, rich, wildly indulgent slice that would taste really good with a scoop of Breyers vanilla bean ice cream. Read more >>

  • I run a darling, friendly, little graphic design studio.
I look on the bright side.
I take photos. Lots of photos.
I wish on stars and on websites.

  • I built my first web site 7 years ago and got 15 seconds of fame. (It changed my life.)
I launched, then relaunched, an online magazine.
I admitted to several embarrassing crushes.
I consumed more bacon than any human should and lived to tell the tales.
