our portrait party
March 2, 2008Rama and I hosted our first official portrait party this weekend and it was so fun. Each person posed for 2- and 10-minute drawings, while the other 5 of us sketched like mad. Our friends were wonderful sports, and the artwork (which Rama will probably post on The Portrait Party over the next few weeks) was fantastic. There are no photos of the actual sketching session because, well, I was too busy drawing.
I love how everyone was willing to experiment, stretching and pulling and pushing ourselves in different directions. I wasn’t thrilled with every one of my drawings—and I was especially disappointed with my sketches of Rama—but it felt good to draw anyway.
We punctuated the party with some TV, pizza and Wii. It was the perfect way to spend a cold & drizzly afternoon.
