While there, I studied art, creative writing and French, and explored our neighboring countries by train. It was a dream come true. Now, when I see the city of lights in photos or films, images of the Seine and the Louvre and Notre Dame, I can&#8217;t believe I was actually there.<\/p>\n<p>2 \u2022 I own too many jackets and coats for a girl in Southern California. I guess I just like winter style. Once, our coat rack, weighed down mostly by my collection, toppled over during a party, and I was so embarrassed I wanted to hide under the gigantic woolly pile.<\/p>\n<p>3 \u2022 The first concert I ever went to was Whitney Houston at Irvine Meadows sometime in the late &#8217;80s. I got tickets for my cousin Melissa for her birthday, and I was so excited that I even got a new outfit for it: a pink knit jumper. Hot.<\/p>\n<p>4 \u2022 My first celebrity crush was the bald guy in <a href=\"http:\/\/www.shanana.com\" target=\"_new\">Sha Na Na<\/a>. Apparently, I used to sit close to the TV and gush, &#8220;He&#8217;s so cuuuute!&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>5 \u2022 I didn&#8217;t know how to flare my nostrils until recently. Thanks to Rama, I learned how to flare my nostrils on demand. It got so bad, or I got so good, that my nostrils sometimes flared without my even trying.<\/p>\n<p>* There are <a href=\"http:\/\/www.jennyvorwaller.com\/blog\/?p=1611\" target=\"_new\">rules<\/a>, but I&#8217;m cheating.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>1 \u2022 I lived in Paris for a post-grad semester.
