One of the things I missed most while I was away is the community. I’ve made so many wonderful friends through words and wires \u2014 and so many of them live across bodies of water and stretches of land \u2014\u00a0 and our web sites are one of the ways we connect. I don’t regret taking time away from it. I needed to savor the newness of my life with Rama, to take the time to make our home, to make the room for our growing family,\u00a0 but it (finally) feels good to be here again.<\/p>\n
It’s especially important for me to stay connected to the outside world because all too often I spend the day in silence in my little bedroom studio. Sometimes, I have to make a conscious effort to go outside and see the sun. Sometimes, it’s a thrill to talk to the checker at Whole Foods or the friendly local post office guy.<\/p>\n
But I chose this fate. Like I said, no regrets. Just gratitude and humility and joy that you’re still here, willing to listen and ready to engage in conversation.<\/p>\n
