Just because I don’t get a summer vacation anymore doesn’t mean I can’t enjoy the season all the same. Jen<\/a> has the right idea, so I’m following suit. Here’s what I’m<\/i> going to do this summer:<\/p>\n

I will swim in at least three different bodies of water.<\/p>\n

I will buy my fresh produce at the Farmer’s Market on Saturday mornings.<\/p>\n

I will barbecue in the back yard.<\/p>\n

I will keep the porch garden alive.<\/p>\n

I will make halo-halo,<\/i> fresh ice cream sandwiches and juicy fruit popsicles.<\/p>\n

I will maintain a vigorous routine of reading, writing, doodling and napping.<\/p>\n

I will take long walks, with and without my camera.<\/p>\n

I will go on little road trips, even if it’s across the city and up the coast, and sing out the open car window.<\/p>\n

I will host crafternoons (and crafternights) and make beautiful messes with the girls.<\/p>\n

I will stop asking myself, “What am I doing with my life?” and start paying attention to the wonderful people, activities and blessings already surrounding me.<\/p>\n

I will look up.<\/p>\n

I will write more love letters and send sweet care packages for no good reason at all.<\/p>\n

I will pamper myself with pedicures, long baths and maybe even a massage.<\/p>\n

I will find many reasons to celebrate and make up my own holidays.<\/p>\n

I will hide out when I need to.<\/p>\n

I will take my sweet time and, if I forget or miss something on the list, I will forgive myself.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
