{"id":549,"date":"2004-01-12T17:27:14","date_gmt":"2004-01-13T01:27:14","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/maganda.org\/wordpress\/?p=549"},"modified":"2004-01-12T17:27:14","modified_gmt":"2004-01-13T01:27:14","slug":"everyday-matters","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/maganda.org\/wordpress\/2004\/01\/12\/everyday-matters\/","title":{"rendered":"Everyday matters"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Like several <a href=\"http:\/\/www.superherodesigns.com\/journal\/\">artists<\/a> <a href=\"http:\/\/www.penelopeillustration.com\">I<\/a> <a href=\"http:\/\/www.kerismith.com\/blog\">know<\/a>, I seem to have developed a crush on <a href=\"http:\/\/dannygregory.com\/weblog\/\">Danny Gregory and his sketchbooks<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>A man after my own heart, he has <a href=\"http:\/\/www.dannygregory.com\/weblog\/archives\/2004_01.html#000022\" title=\"Unlike him, however, I am not this organized\">kept journals for years<\/a>, documenting little and big details and finding beauty in the every day. He doesn&#8217;t just draw&#8211;he <a href=\"http:\/\/www.dannygregory.com\/weblog\/archives\/2004_01.html#000015\">sees<\/a>. By that, I mean through the process of art, he has developed a keen eye on matters of the mind and heart, not just of sight.<\/p>\n<p>I&#8217;m reading a book that compilies many of his journal pages, <a href=\"http:\/\/www.amazon.com\/exec\/obidos\/ASIN\/156898443X\/\"><i>Everyday Matters,<\/i><\/a> and while I&#8217;m only about halfway through, I already know it&#8217;s one of those books that I&#8217;ll recommend to everyone I know, artists and nonartists alike.<\/p>\n<p>It&#8217;s about New York, love, art, sacrifice and life.
