lazy line painter jane
belle & sebastian

i just received this box set in the mail, thanks to a dear friend, and i have been listening to it nonstop. my current favorite tune: you made me forget my dreams. it's sad, but lovely.

also listening to:
good dog bad dog over the rhine, ani difranco living in clip, disc 1 liz phair whitechocolatespaceegg, belle & sebastian fold your hands child, you walk like a peasant, madonna the immaculate collection, travis the man who, spiritualized ladies and gentleman, we are floating in space, radiohead the bends, ben lee something to remember me by, ivy apartment life, powerpuff girls heroes and villains, lemonheads the best of the lemonheads,

girl
based on the wonderful book by blake nelson, this movie went straight to video, and now i know why. as lisaann and i discussed, it was a little too my so-called life. don't the moviemakers know there is only one angela?

recently viewed on TV:
you've got mail, men, random hearts, and the real world, of course. ah, cable.

spilling open
sabrina ward harrison
mandatory reading for young women or anyone awkwardly stumbling through life. each page is beautiful. it's also another reason why i want to someday name my first daughter sabrina.

waiting patiently on the shelf:
the girl with curious hair david foster wallace's collection of short stories. it's not that i don't like them, it's just that i got distracted.

irises
vincent van gogh

during a recent trip to the getty i was reminded of why i love van gogh so much: although this work is small and unassuming, his use of color is stunning.

mini shoulder talkie bag
by dickies

my brother's girlfriend had what appeared to be the perfect purse--just the right size to lug around all the necessities, durable enough to toss anywhere and fashionable, too. yay dickies, you make fabulous gear!

drooling over:
amazon.com, delia's catalog and urban outfitters.

killer shrimp
marina del rey
first, you put on a plastic bib. then you get a bowl of shrimp, swimming in "luxurious" spicy buttery sauce. next you dip your slice of french bread in the bowl to fish out a piece of shrimp. you peel it open. you stuff it in your mouth. you utter and exclaim and rave! and then you repeat.

recent dining discoveries:
french market cafe, venice
hide sushi, marina del rey
porch cafe, long beach
